Nadia L. Wahhab / Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy
I am also a Clinical Hypnotherapist. I practice Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. Cognitive Behavioural hypnosis is a common sense therapy.Hypnosis is a state of mind, enhanced by mental and physical relaxation, in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind. Hypnotherapy is very effective in the treatment of a wide variety of anxieties and stress related problem, bad habits, phobias, insomnia, psychosomatic conditions, negative pattern of thinking etc. It is also extremely helpful in enabling a person to focus effectively and to be confident and positive. Hypnotherapy is safe and has been recognised as an effective treatment by the British Medical Association (BMA). It is also classified by the Department of Health as a branch of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is regarded as one of the three models of hypnotic psychotherapy. It combines hypnotherapy with techniques and concepts from cognitive behavioural therapy.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is brief and time-limited. It is a structured, action-oriented and goal-directed (solution focused) therapy.

FAQ's
Q. What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of mind, enhanced by mental and physical relaxation, in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind. Hypnosis is a state of awareness where you will not do or say anything that you do not want.
Q. Will I lose control?
No, you remain in control all the time. A hypnotherapist does not have any control over the client. The state of hypnosis is in fact one of heightened awareness where it is possible for your mind to be aware of many more things than in the conscious state. While being in hypnosis you will not fall asleep, you will be aware and in control.
Q. What does hypnosis feel like?
Hypnosis is essentially a cognitive state, a special state related to belief and imagination- not a state of feeling, though it may be accompanied by various feelings.
Q. How many sessions would I need?
Sessions are tailored to the individual client and their presenting problem, so we can discuss it on an individual basis during our initial consultation. Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is short term and solution focused. Therefore the number of sessions will vary from three to six, depending on the intensity of the problem.
Q. Cost of the session.
The fee per session is £65. For smoking cessation the first session will take approximately 2 hours. The initial consultation is £30 which will last for an hour, where we discuss the presenting problem, then carry on with the initial assessment and eventually talk about the cognitive behavioural techniques & the treatment plan.
